Sakura Matsuri 2015 (Japanese Street Festival)

Hey DrunkenAnt~ here
after the 2015 Sakura Matsuri

Took place on the 11th of April this year and I can say I was exited to go again.
I been going to the Sakura Matsuri since 2008
Way before I started blogging, chronically watching anime, and hoarding anime figures.

Tickets this year are the same as last~

$10 @ Door
$10 Online
$08 Early Bird Online

Link of Last years Blog

The group and I took the Metro to the Festival.
Metro is the best way to to travel during this time as they shut down many of the roads making it almost impossible to drive.
I heard from one women it took her Three hours to get to the Festival by car last year.
She admitted to her mistake. She may of been exaggerating but I can feel its would be a pain to drive.

Best Metro Train station to get off at "Metro Center" off the Red Line or
"Federal Triangle" off Blue/Orange Line
It all depends were your coming from.

It may just be me but it was very crowed and
jam packed with people this year.
That may be a plus for others but it made it hard to get to one place to another with my group of five with out losing someone. Difficulty  Looking at booths and long lines come with large crowds too.

I didn't get many photos of Cosplay this year due to the large crowed. The crowed made it hard to spot Cosplay and if i did spot one it was hard to get their attention or hard to "chase" just for a photo.

Wow~ Look at all the people

So it made me wonder why they had this Torii Gate were it is in this photo.

Wiki says:
"Torii Gates symbolically marks the transition from the profane to the sacred.
The presence of a Torii at the entrance is usually the simplest way to identify shrines
. "

So why does this one lead in to the chain link fence ?

Sakura Matsuri 2013

I liked it in this orientation back in 2013

So I end up playing this "Jeopardy"
I guess someone owns the name "Jeopardy"
So its called "JetPardy" today

Had to get 700 points within four questions
to get a "Big" prize and anything lower you get the things seen on the table
and some candy if you have a really low score.

I went for "Japanese Words 400" to start

"Japanese word meaning death from overwork"

Highlight for Answer: [ Karoshi]

I got this one wrong... I remember reading about it somewhere but could not remember the word.

Next I went for "Pop Culture 400"

"What Pop Metal Fusion band formed in 2010"

Highlight for Answer: [ Babymetal]

I got this one right~ I yelled out the answer before the host
finished the question so~
The question up there is some what of a guess.
I remember hearing "Pop Metal Fusion."

Next I went for "Pop Culture 300"

A farming simulator that started on the Nintendo home gaming system and is now any many other platforms.

Highlight for Answer: [ Harvest Moon[Bokujō Monogatari]

I was also asked if i knew the Japanese name of the game and I didn't...
But still got the points~
I had to think about the answer for this for a bit but I knew it~

As of now I have the 700 points needed for the "Big Prize"
The host said to keep going as I had one more question

 So Finally I went for "Food 400"

"What European country introduced fried food to Japan? Like Tempura"

Highlight for Answer: [ Portugal]

I had no clue.... I took a crazy guess on Germany
and I was super wrong..

So with 700 Points the Host brought out a ten gallon bucket full of things.
Things like CDs, posters, calenders, and other Nic-Nacs

I decided to get the English-Japanese
"Talking Business in Japanese" Phrases Book

So looking at this you may wonder what is going on in this photo,
It happens to be a game involving chopsticks.

You are given 90 seconds to transfer as many of the items in the bowl to the other bowl on the opposite end of the table.

Cotton Ball ~ 1 Point
Eraser ~ 2 Points
Bean ~ 5 Points

Looks like the beans were 3 points than changed to 5
but from what I remember from the other years its supposes to be 5 points

Go for them Beans~ !

To me its surprisingly fun~

Other than that I didn't really do anything else
I didn't buy any thing or get any food
Just looked around a bit than went home~

Make sure to check out all the photos on the Desu Chronicles Facebook Page: Link

Many Thanks~ See you next time

Katsucon 2015

Hey DrunkenAnt here~
Katsucon was about a mouth+ ago and I can remember the freezing temperatures of that weekend.
The forecast called snow on that Saturday, and it snowed only a dusting but with the added winds of being at the harbor it was a nightmare to be outdoors.

The Desu Chronicles group went out in this nightmare cold and snow to eat out at the restaurants in the harbor.

I left Friday around noon time to pick up the others ~ in my "Soccer Mom" Van ~
Did the self parking in the garage :3
After we checked in the room we went to Registration/ Pre-Registration area.
It was about 1:30pm or so and there was a line for the badges pick up room ...
So you had to stand in line to stand in another line
I didn't Pre-Register
We stood in the line for an hour and a half and didn't even get a quarter up the line.
We gave up on the line and went for dinner.

After dinner we went back to the Registration Line and lucky it was so short it only took 15 minutes to get our badges. It was as smart idea to skip the long line and go eat ~
I heard from people in the elevator that they stood in line for five hours just to get their badges...

After that we just walked around looking for Cosplays to take photos of~

(Link of Day One Hall Cosplay Photos)

Wish I got more photos but,
It was a good day~
Now that I think about it I didn't think I even needed a badge...
Other than one for the collection I didn't truly need it
Spend 70 or so dollars to just buy a few things in the Dealers room.
I don't really go to panels or do anything else.

 Day two I had a Photoshoot with Doki Donut Cosplay and Melody Monogatari Cosplay
as RPG Mikuri and Haruhi

You can see all the photos from the shoot Here

Right after the shoot their was a Love Love Cosplay Gathering~
I'm a big Love Live fan and was looking forward to it

You can see all the photos from the shoot Here

And Day Two Hall Shoots are Here~

Last day of the Convention was mostly spent packing your things and getting down the elevator from the 18th floor. After all of our things were in the Van we wet to eat and than just hung out looking out for Cosplay to take photos of.

Link of Day Three Hall Cosplay Shots Here

It was a good Convention and we all had a good time.
Next event I'm looking forwards to is the DC Sakura Matsuri.
Takes place April 11

Oshino Shinobu "Taito - Non Scale"

Hey~ DrunkenAnt Desu ~

Today I bring you one of my most favorite Vampire ~
Oshino Shinobu of the Monogatari Series
This particular figure is form "Monogatari Series: Second Season"

I bought this via AmiAmi on release date [09/26/2014]
For about 1400JPY

 Shinobu Oshino Said:
"The sun is my enemy, but the moon has been good to me."

The two sides of the box are the same and the front in back kinda the same but the first photo is a bit "zoomed" in compared to the one above this text.

It's a simple windowless box with nice colors,
screen shot image from the anime
and punch out holes on the sides for "crane game"

At first look she just looks so cute sitting in that chair
The way she has her arm rested on the back
her cute little black one piece dress
I didn't see any paint bleed or blots and anything out of the ordinary
Pretty good for a prize figure

Figure its self is loose and can be moved freely
She has no pegs however she sits well sung in her chair
The chair its self is a little on the wobbly side but I don't have any fears of it falling over.

The base is what you see ~
Well its the pattern of the floor in  Koyomi's room

Look at that cute smile of hers
It will bring you all the joy in the world
Who wouldn't want Shinobu living in your shadow

Cute and simple black one piece dress
It suites her very well
It fits her age appearance
She may be older than she looks but that's the charm behind it

From the back and sides you can see her wonderful golden hair
It flows down her back like sunshine

From the last three photos you can see how wonderful hair is
they captured the unique shape of her hair style and brought out her full elegance

Most favorite thing about this figure are the legs~
bare feet just adds to the fetish fuel

Her are so smooth and cute looking~
Beautiful pale skin tone and
Full of life they look almost look too real

She playfully touches her thigh
but take her seriously
She means business

That is all for this little review
Overall a wonderful prize figure from Taito
It may be over all simple but still super cute

As always I took a few photos with low light
White and Black backgrounds

Hope you all had a good holiday season~
And Happy New Year to all~

Aisaka Taiga The Last Episode "Kotobukiya 1/6"

Hey~ DrunkenAnt here ~

To day I bring you the Legendary Tsundere girl, Aisaka Taiga of Toradora
The Palmtop Tagia voiced by the Lengendary Tsundere Queen~ Rie Kugimiya ~

 Aisaka Taiga said:
"A dog's happiness is measured by how useful he is to his master"

10/2010 1st release
08/2011 2nd release
01/2014 3rd release

I bought her used some time before the 3nd release for about $120
I didn't think they would release her so many times
Shes just that good~

There is no room to display her so when I opened her up a few weeks ago it brought a smile to my face. Taiga was that beautiful ♥

Taiga is only seen in this uniform for a short time in "The Last Episode" but it's my most favorite outfit of hers. Sailor style uniform has always been a favorite for me. Taiga just looks so cute ♥

Any time your looking for that special someone ~ Check the supply locker ~

The box is really nice~
It has good windows to let the light in. It kinda resembles windows of a Japanese class room
and the colors of the image and print text are nicely done

Her backing is an image of the classroom~
Its a nice addition~

So~ I took a picture
I say she looks quite cute ♥
The kinda window shapes does add a nice feel to it
Maybe if I added sky or something behind the windows it would look nice~

Taiga figure stands  24cm tall
Height: 144.5cm (4'9")
Take her height and divide by the scale
Math adds up to be about right
(144.5/6=24.08)

Legs seem to have an illusion~
They seem very long
It must be the skirt with high hemline and her skinny physique

Others have mentioned her head has a large appearance
Its due to the volume of her wonderful hair ♥

Taiga having a small body and given the nickname "Palmtop Tiger"
has given her a complex. Make sure not to mention her height when speaking to her.

Love the flip on the skirt ~ Super Cute
You can catch a glimpse of the skirt lining peeking out
Brings out a bit of movement and dimension

Can't ignore that Grade A Zettai Ryouiki
That perfect unison between the
Skirt and Knee high socks that exposes a bit of skin
It just draws in your helpless gaze
Zettai Ryouiki has Magnetic Properties

Continue Scrolling ~ (If you can)

From the back you can see her long wonderful wavy hair
I love the high volume
Its just overflowing with life and beauty

Its said that a girls hair is her life ~

From this view you can also she her hand placement
It may be simple but its super cute~ and innocent

From the side you can see how flat Taiga is
No I'm not talking about her chest but in how thin she is

You can see her long and slender legs
Such beauty
The way she stands on her toes to add extra height to her small body
is just too cute~ ♥

(Or maybe shes on her toes getting her headbutt attack ready)

Taiga used Headbutt ~!

The base square shape with a pink fuzz carpet type material
In my opinion the pink color does not go well with the rest of the figure

Taiga is held down by a set of screws that goes in to the base and the bottom of her feet

If Taiga knew I was doing this to her she would Kill me
you can gaze at her white panties and skirt liner

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well that ends my little review of Aisaka Taiga
The rest of the photos are ones with lighting to the side
and also used Black backing to see how she would look~
 I do like the results
I also took her outside for some shots in natural lighting
That is all~
I hope you enjoyed my photos
